Puppy Adventure Academy’s Mission

We know how busy life can be, so we are here to help you get your dog trained around your schedule!

Puppy-Adventure-Academy-Approach

Puppy Adventure Academy was created to provide a place to train dogs at the pace you need.

Some people would like to do most of the training themselves while others want to get a jump start by having us teach all the skills so you only have to do a little bit of maintenance. We’ve designed a menu of services to fit any family.

Our Approach

Ashley Johnson, CPDT

Ashley started her career at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where she became manager. She learned a tremendous amount about dog interactions and reading dog body language.

She left this position to attend the Karen Pryor Academy and earn her certification in dog training. She started out as a manners trainer at What a Great Dog in Frisco, TX (WAGD). Her interest in dog sports grew and she competed in rally, nosework, dock diving, and obedience.

She eventually became one of the rally instructors and was promoted to the Head Trainer role at WAGD. She wrote much of the training curriculum for WAGD’s manners classes and Puppy Preschool Program. She also ran their training program, getting new trainers ready to teach classes.

In Fall of 2021 she left that position to open Puppy Adventure Academy with Rachel, and now enjoys the personal attention and custom training she can give each dog. In her free time she dabbles in dog sports with her border collies and works on her never ending home renovation.

Rachel Vogt

Rachel Vogt got involved in dog training as she spent time helping foster dogs get a head start going to new homes.

Her interest in dog behavior led her to attend a wide variety of classes, clinics, and seminars. She left her legal career behind in 2018 to pursue a full time career in dog training at What a Great Dog.

She was promoted to General Manager of the Frisco Facility and helped the company weather the challenges brought by COVID-19. While she was there she enjoyed teaching classes, maintaining the facility and managing staff.

She helped research and write the curriculum for the online puppy preschool program and the jumping workshop.

In the Summer of 2021 she left her position to devote her time to creating Puppy Adventure Academy. In her free time she enjoys taking her dogs out hikes and tinkering on her property.
